While they are attending music school, young students develop their talents through academic programs and by performing in youth orchestras throughout the United States. College, university and conservatory programs, as well as the opportunities to perform, are excellent preparation for the dream of playing with major symphony orchestras. However, for the overwhelming majority of these gifted and deserving students, their artistic development and career goals end upon graduation from college. Only a very small percentage of these students will ever join major symphonies. Students rarely receive the opportunity to further develop their talents to a level required by professional orchestras. This problem results in the enormous loss of great talent for musicians and audiences alike. The Toscanini New Symphony Orchestra has been conceived as an opportunity for emergent professional musicians in the United States to continue their professional growth after having completed their academic studies. The mission of this new orchestra is to assist these young people in transforming their passion into a life of musical accomplishment.
